“It started with a simple question…”
In this edition of Itensify Insights, we want to share a story. Something like this crosses our path more often than you’d expect. Here’s a case from about a quarter of a year ago. It started, as many do, with a short email.
“We need something that can handle this and that, under these conditions.” No drawings. No attachments. Just that one clear question. They had seen one of our earlier newsletters on LinkedIn. Didn’t bookmark it, but the tone stuck with them. The way we work. The way we think. They figured: if we don’t ask, we’ll never know.
What they needed wasn’t extreme, but it definitely wasn’t standard. It required testing under specific conditions, with elements that didn’t fit existing systems. Everything had to be safe, consistent, and reliable. They couldn’t find anything that matched.
We brought together our engineering team. People with experience in mechanics, electronics, hydraulics, software, and testing. Together, they looked at the complete picture. Not just what the machine needed to do, but also how it would be used, by whom, and in what kind of environment. From there, we developed a clear and practical concept. Robust, functional, and built with long-term reliability in mind. Once the design was final, we built the system.
To be honest, projects like this often cost us more than they bring in. They take time, focus, and a team that’s willing to go deep. There’s no shortcut, no easy margin, no repeat order waiting on the other side.
But we still do it.
Not because it’s easy, but because it’s interesting. Because we like solving things no one else wants to do. And because there’s something deeply rewarding about building something that didn’t exist before and now does exactly what it’s supposed to.
